New community cafe in Bushey

Post a Reply to this topic.

Hi all,

I currently run a community cafe on the outskirts of south London and am thinking of opening something similar in the Bushey area.

Could anyone let me know what sort of thing Bushey locals would want from a community cafe space?
In my cafe at the moment we have the usual coffee mornings for mums, the odd art class and book clubs in the evening. A relaxed atmosphere for local people to drop in as and when they please.

Would something like this do well in Bushey? Any thoughts would be welcome.

Thanks

Kat

  1. Hi Kat - I think something like this would do well in Bushey, we don't have anything much like that at the moment. Although church halls or similar are often used for coffee mornings etc, it would be good to have something more modern and comfortable.

Not sure where you'd have it though - any ideas on that?

  2. Hi Kat- I'm in the Bushey Heath area, and think your idea excellent.
There is a shop which has been vacant a long time near the estate
agents, nail shop and betting shop. How about it! Lots of older people,
and young mums,a very friendly high road.

  3. YES! Not sure about Bushey Heath though (sorry Corinne), it already has a couple of cafes doesn't it?

Bushey village needs a decent coffee shop before the likes of Cafe Nero come in - no community in those places, just the same style everytime, need to resist the McDonaldisation of every high street in the country!

Something similar to the coffee shop at the back of Presence in Watford, comfortable place to go and relax, meet friends and take part in classes, discussions etc etc.

Would do well in Bushey village, lots of young mums here too
