We Love Bushey

Pay& Display car parks in Bushey. Local residents are definitely being penalised by the by the introduction of Pay and Display car parks. The council says that it is so that shoppers will be able to park, but why will it make shoppers parking easier if businesses are still allowed to park all day and at not an unreasonable rate? Why has the council not allowed the first hour free for shoppers as there is in many car parks in Hertfordshire? Furthermore, prior to this installation, why were the carparks not patrolled by the traffic wardens who patrol the High Street and those who parked longer than 2 hours fined? In this economic climate it seems a strange time to introduce this scheme. We do use the Bushey Heath shops now, but I don't think we will be using it as often from now on. Of course it is a money making scheme.
