Free swimming continues
A pilot programme of free swimming in Bushey and other Hertsmere areas, which has been up and running since April this year, is set to continue for the under-16 and over 60 age groups.
Under original plans, the scheme was funded by Hertsmere Council up until 30 September, though at a recent executive meeting, councillors agreed for the scheme to continue for another six months, until the end of March 2010.
A further decision must be taken then as to whether it will continue.
During September, free swimming is available for the specific age groups Monday, Wednesday and Fridays between 7.30am to 9.30am and 4pm to 6pm, and on Saturday from 1pm to 4pm at Bushey Grove Leisure Centre, Bushey.
The times are subject to change in October.
