Second place for young Bushey pupil

A pupil from St Margaret’s School, Bushey, has narrowly missed out on winning the Hertsmere Borough Council Christmas card competition.

Emily Blow, aged nine, shared second place in the competition that sees the council use the winning design as their own Christmas card to send out to various local organisations.

The winning design came from Katelyn Barnes, aged nine, from Cowley Hill Primary School in Borehamwood, who drew three wise men on camels.  This image will be converted into an electronic greeting card and sent by the council via email to partner organisations.

Schoolchildren aged 11 or under from across the borough were invited to enter the competition and around 300 designs were submitted and the final four were chosen by mayor Rosemary Gilligan.  The winners received gift vouchers, a certificate, a large version of their design and a pack of their own cards to send to friends and family.
