Are you satisfied with Hertfordshire County Council?
Almost three-quarters (73 per cent) of Hertfordshire residents are happy with the level of service provided by Hertfordshire County Council, according to an annual survey carried out by Opinion Research Services (ORS).
Overall satisfaction with the way the council runs things has increased from 68 per cent in 2007 to its present level of 73 per cent. An even higher number of residents (89 per cent) are content living in the county.
The survey took place before the council’s recent decision to freeze its council tax, yet over half (52 per cent) of those residents surveyed agreed that the council provides value for money.
Robert Gordon, leader of the council, said: "These are very encouraging results, which demonstrate that the majority of residents feel their money is being spent wisely to deliver high quality services such as schools, roads, Fire & Rescue and care for older and vulnerable people.
“The views of our residents reinforce the recent judgement by the Audit Commission which concluded that the council ‘has a track record of managing its spending within budget while maintaining and enhancing good service performance',” added Gordon.
Does the survey reflect your opinion on the council? Do you feel that you get value for money from county roads, schools and services such as Hertfordshire Police.
